New Year, New Start?

Posted: 2016-12-19

Thinking of losing some weight in the New Year? Then be very careful of the method you choose to use for this. Eating less and exercising more can sometimes look like itís giving you the desired result, only to end up causing you even greater problems long term.

Here are three clients that Iíve been working with this year, and all of them are now eating more than theyíve ever eaten. They still have a way to go to reach their goals, but because of the methods weíre using, they wonít get the usual rebound of weight piling back on. This is usually due to a slowed metabolism, caused by focusing on losing scale weight with no consideration to whether the loss has come from muscle of fat.

The other factor to remember is that you need to be totally ready to commit to losing weight before you try. If youíre not mentally ready, youíll struggle to make the changes needed to get the result you desire.

Donít get disheartened if things arenít falling into place when you first start, two of these ladies were with me for about 4 months before they reached the point where they were finally ready to start applying themselves to losing weight.

Change happens when the pain of staying the same is greater than the pain of change.
A by-product of this kind of programme is also increased strength, and my female clients often comment how much easier day to day tasks have become for them.
